NMC asks medical colleges to fill Google form on AMR

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has written to all the government and private medical colleges about the National Action Plan (NAP) on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

The letter reads, "Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) has been recognized as a serious and growing threat to public health globally. The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified AMR as one of the top 10 global public health threats facing humanity. Misuse and overuse of antimicrobials are the main drivers in the development of drug-resistant pathogens. India is among the nations with one of the highest-burden of bacterial infections. The crude mortality from infectious diseases in India is very high."

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has developed the National Action Plan (NAP) which needs to be launched across the country. The NAP-AMR strategic intervention activity under NMC can be found at http://www.ncdc.gov.in/writeReadData/linkimages/AMR/File545.pdf.

NMC has asked all medical colleges to fill out the form at https://bit.ly/3LDcKbN latest by February 28.
