NMC invites applications for Legal Officers on contractual basis

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has invited applications for hiring Legal officers in its headquarters and its four Autonomous Boards in New Delhi on a contractual basis for a period of three years (subject to an annual performance review).

The eligible and interested candidates can send their application and biodata along with self-attested copies of the ID proof, educational qualification certificates, experience certificates by the employer concerned and a self-attested copy of the Bar Council Registration certificate.

Legal Officers at NMC Details

There are a total of three posts available at a remuneration of INR 67,700 (inclusive of taxes). The qualification needed is a graduate degree in LLB with a minimum of 55% marks. The candidate should have at least 10 years of standing in the profession after registration with the Bar Council of India, and experience working in the law department in the Central government, state government, or autonomous organisation. The maximum age limit for appointment shall not be exceeding 40 years as of the closing date of receipt of applications.

Job Responsibilities

Following is the brief description of duties:

  • Representing NMC before courts, tribunals and other forums.
  • Advising NMC on legal and administrative issues.
  • Drafting and vetting of legal documents such as counter affidavits, replies, briefs, notes, circulars, notices, orders etc.
  • Helping in legal research and maintaining MIS, handling grievances and complaints related to legal matters.
  • Preparing instructions for the standing counsels of the commissions.
  • Monitoring litigation and co-ordinating with the concerned Board/Section and standing counsels of the commission at various courts across the country.
