NMC issues advisory for students seeking admission to medical colleges of Kyrgyzstan

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has advised the Indian medical students who are taking admission to medical colleges of Kyrgyzstan and other foreign countries that they must not overlook the supervisory, regulatory and infrastructural issues in these institutions.

NMC official notification has said, “It has come to the notice of the Ministry of External Affairs that a few new medical colleges have been launched in Kyrgyzstan in last one year namely, the Avicenna University, Adam University, Royal Metro University, Int'l Medical University, Salymbekov University, ABC, etc and nearly two hundred Indian students have already been enrolled in these institutions without enrollment of a single Kyrgyz student.”

The notification added, "In this context, any prospective student needs to be aware that there may be some supervisory, regulatory, and infrastructural issues in these colleges that should not be overlooked before taking admissions there. Allowing overseas students on the day of the launch also runs contrary to international norms requisite to enrol foreign students. Also, students are advised to refer to the National Medical Commission's FMGE Regulations, 2021 before applying or planning to seek admission in any institutions in Kyrgyzstan or any other foreign country."

"In view of the above, students are advised to exercise due diligence in choosing where to pursue medical education from," added the NMC advisory.
