NTA NEET Answer Key 2022 Live: Release Date, Time and How to Download Response Sheet

Last year, as may as three candidates had scored full marks of 720 in NEET. All three of them secured All India Rank 1. The NEET toppers were Mrinal Kutteri, Tanmay Gupta and Karthika G Nair.

NEET 2022 official answer keys may be released by NTA by today evening. Although NTA has not shared the exact schedule, the speculation is done based on the previous years' NTA NEET answer key dates trend.

Candidates had to attempt a total of 45 questions out of the total 50 questions in each subject. While it was compulsory to attempt 35 questions in Section A, 10 out of 15 questions had to be attempted in the Section B of each subject.

NEET 2022 question paper carried a total of 200 questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Test takers had the option to not attempt five questions from each subject.

NTA will release the NEET 2022 question paper PDFs for all sets and languages on the official website of NTA, nya.ac.in. NET 2022 question paper PDFs will be available in 13 languages including English and Hindi and in multiple sets that were catered to candidates on the day of the exam.

A total of 91,927 MBBS, 27,698 BDS, 52,720 AYSH seats, and 603 BVSc &AH seats will be offered through NEET scores. As per the latest report by the National Medical Council, there are 612 medical and 317 dental colleges in India. Over the past couple of years, a number of medical colleges have been established and are planned to be founded in the coming years. 

Refer to the table below to know the NEET cutoff trends for the past three years. This will help them understand the difficulty level of the examination.

NTA will announce the NEET 2022 cutoff scores along with the result and scorecard. The category-wise cutoff percentiles are fixed and are brought in the table below.

After successfully submitting the NEET 2022 answer key challenges, candidates will be issued a confirmation slip that will indicate the number of questions or answer keys against which objection is filed and the fee payment confirmation. This NEET 2022 answer key objection slip must be preserved till the final answer keys, or the result is declared. After the release of the final answer keys, test-takers may refer to the confirmation slip to compare the provisional and final keys and take note of whether the keys have remained the same or have been modified by the NTA Expert Committee. 

The NEET 2022 exam pattern had remained the same as the last year except for the duration, which was increased by 20 minutes. Instead of 180 minutes, NEET 2022 total duration was 200 minutes. The timing of the exam was from 2 pm to 5.20 pm (IST). The extra 20 minutes provided ease to candidates in terms of going through the NEET question paper and selecting 180 out of 200 questions for attempting. 

NTA has not officially announced any date for releasing the provisional NEET 2022 official answer key. The following table brings the tentative date for the NTA NEET 2022 answer keys.

With the completion of two weeks of NEET 2022 on August 7, it is expected that NTA will release the NEET provisional answer keys 2022 anytime soon, tentatively in the second week of August.

NEET is the gateway to MBBS admission at 612 Medical colleges across India. According to the latest data of the National Medical Council, the total number of MBBS seats in India is 92,627. Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are some of the states with highest number of medical colleges offering MBBS course.

The information would be uploaded in the form of a PDF document under the 'Public Notice' or 'Notice Board Archive' sections. Candidates will have to download the notice and follow the given procedure and schedule.

The final answer keys for NEET 2022 are expected to be released in September. After the release of NEET 2022 provisional answer keys, NTA is expected to take around two to three weeks to verify the objections and finalise the answer keys and compute the NEET 2022 result.

The total marks of NEET 2022 is 720. The weightage is highest for the Biology subject, which consists of Botany and Zoology sections. The following table brings the subject or section-wise marks in NEET 2022.

NTA is expected to release the provisional NEET provisional answer keys 2022 by early next week, or the third week of August. As two weeks to the exam would be complete, it is highly possible that the exam authorities will start the process of uploading the NEET 2022 OMR sheets and send it to candidates individually, as well as prepare the PDF files of the set-wise NEET 2022 answer keys.

A total of 18.72 lakh candidates had applied for NEET 2022, which is the highest number in the past five years. According to NTA, the exam recorded 95 per cent attendance. With the release of the NTA NEET answer key 2022, over 18 lakh candidates will receive their OMR sheets, and calculate their estimated scores. 

Candidates who took NEET 2022 in the 12 regional languages, will also receive their OMR sheets and the provisional NTA NEET answer key 2022 on the same date as the English language NEET question paper and answer keys. The 13 languages in which the NEET 2022 exam was conducted are as follows:

NTA will release as many as 24 NEET 2022 answer key documents. Since there were four NEET 2022 question paper sets, which six sub-sets, the answer keys will be separate for all the 24 question papers. The NEET 2022 question paper sets were Q (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, Q5, Q6), R (R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6), S (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6) and T (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T6).

Candidates must note that NTA would not refund the NEET 2022 answer key or OMR sheet recorded response objection filing fees. Even if their objection is proved to be valid, it would be reflected on the final answer keys, but the amount would not be refunded. Hence, students must utilise this opportunity judiciously.

NTA will send a scanned image of the NEET 2022 OMR Answer Sheet to the registered e-mail address of candidates provided during the application process of NEET. Hence, students are advised to keep checking their email inbox to not miss out this critical email.

Based on the analysis of the past five years of NEET official answer key release, it can be observed that NTA releases the provisional answer keys within two to three weeks of conducting the exam. Last year, the NEET 2021 provisional answer keys were released after a month of the exam. The table below brings the year-wise dates of releasing the answer keys of NEET.

NTA will not inform the status of objections filed to the candidates individually. They may check and analyse the differences in the final NEET 2022 answer keys that would be released along with the result. "No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of his/her challenge," NTA stated.

Once the Expert Committee reviews the official NTA NEET 2022 answer key objections, it would work towards the final answer keys. In case one or more objections are found correct, the NEET answer key will be revised accordingly. The key finalised by the Experts after the challenge will be final. Based on the revised NEET Final Answer Keys, the NEET 2022 result will be prepared and declared.

While submitting objections against the NEET 2022 official answer key, candidates have to pay the requisite fee in online mode only. The accepted modes of payment include Credit Card/Debit Card, Net Banking and Paytm. NTA had stated, "No challenge will be entertained without receipt of the processing fee online. The Challenges will not be accepted through any other mode (than online)."

NTA sets up an Expert Committee, the members of which include notable professors or subject matter experts, which evaluate each and every objection filed against the NTA NEET official answer keys. They analyse and evaluate the questions and the official answer key, vis-a-vis the alternate answer key provided by the objection submitting candidates. The validity of the suggested answer key is checked through the given solutions.

NTA generally provides a window of three days for candidates to submit challenges or objections against the NEET official answer keys. They need to send email in the given format along with the details of the NEET question paper set, question number and correct answer option according to them. They must also send an explanation or a detailed solution for the answers to justify their objection. 

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the NTA NEET answer key 2022:

• Visit the official website of NEET 2022 – neet.nta.nic.in

• Log in with NEET 2022 application number and password and date of birth

• Download OMR sheet and set-wise NEET 2022 answer key (provisional)

• Compare the recorded responses from your OMR sheet and answer keys

NTA has not announced the NEET 2022 answer key challenge procedure or fees yet. The tentative fees, based on last year are as follows:

• NEET Provisional Answer Key Challenge – INR 1,000

• NEET OMR Sheet Response Challenge – INR 200

Experts had released set-wise NEET 2022 answer keys and solutions on the day of the exam itself. However, these are unofficial answer keys and not formal or official keys. Upon the release of the NEET 2022 official answer keys, candidates can refer to the unofficial answer keys and compare. In case of a difference, they are eligible to raise objections.

The NEET recorded response sheet refers to candidates’ OMR sheets which they had submitted on the day of the exam. NTA releases the OMR sheets to ensure transparency, and to help test-takers calculate their NEET scores accurately. By referring to the NEET OMR sheets, candidates will be able to analyse their performance in terms of number of attempts along with the ratio of correct and incorrect responses.

After receiving the NTA NEET 2022 official answer keys (provisional), test-takers will have to calculate their scores based on the following marking scheme:

• +4 for each correct response

• -1 for each incorrect response

• 0 marks for unattempted or extra

Candidates’ recorded responses or the OMR sheets will be released by NTA along with the provisional answer keys. Based on both data, they have to calculate their estimated score in NEET 2022 out of the total marks of 720.

NTA is expected to release the provisional NEET 2022 answer key in the second week of August. As per the trends of previous years, NTA releases the provisional answer key within a month of conducting the exam.
