IGNOU Invites Application for Post Basic BSc Nursing Programme; Check Eligibility, Registration Steps

IGNOU Post Basic BSc Nursing registration 2025 is ongoing for interested and eligible students in online mode at ignounursing.samarth.edu.in. Check how to apply online for IGNOU admission 2025 and the eligibility criteria for the programme here. 

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started the admission process for Post Basic Nursing programme for the January 2025 session. Students who are willing to take part in the admission process are suggested to check the eligibility criteria here. Students have to fill the application form in online mode at ignounursing.samarth.edu.in. The authorities will only accept the applications in online mode. Students have to provide their personal and academic details to complete their registrations. 

IGNOU Nursing Admission 2025: Eligibility Criteria 

Students willing to get admission in Post Basic Nursing programme for the January 2025 session in IGNOU shall adhere to the following eligibility criteria for admission: 

• In-service Nurses i.e. Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM) have 10+2 with three years of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of two years of experience (after registration as RNRM) in the profession. Or, 
• In-service Nurses (RNRM) having 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with three years of Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of five years of experience (after registration as RNRM) in the profession.
• The authorities have notified that the candidates with 10+2 and GNM shall not apply if their experience after RNRM is less than 2 years. Further, Candidates with 10th class and GNM must not apply if having less than 5 years of experience after RNRM.

Students have to follow the below steps for IGNOU registration:

• Visit the official website - ignounursing.samarth.edu.in
• Click on the 'New Registration' link visible on the screen
• Enter your Username and create a strong password
• Enter the required information and submit the details
• The username will be sent to the email and the registered number
• Remember your username and password for subsequent login
