MP High Court has directed the state Nursing Registration Council to submit an inspection report of all the 674 nursing colleges by April 26.
A division bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has directed the state Nursing Registration Council to present an inspection report of all the 674 nursing colleges in the state by April 26. It is related to a PIL in the court that alleged that nursing colleges in the tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh are fake and only exist on paper.
The petitioner had alleged that in 2020-21, 55 new nursing colleges were given sanction by the MP Nursing Registration Council to operate in the tribal districts of the state. The sanction was reportedly given after proper inspection and physical verification of the facilities by the Council. However, the petitioner alleged that these colleges don't have the requisite facilities to run a nursing college. The allegation is that these nursing colleges are being run in small houses and they don't have proper lab and faculty, as reported by TOI.
