The All India OBC Students Association (AIOBCSA) has welcomed Tamil Nadu National Law University's implementation of 50% OBC reservations in AIQs for LLB and LLM courses and asked other NLUs to follow the same.
The All India OBC Students Association (AIOBCSA) has been demanding the implementation of Other Backward Class (OBC) reservations in the All India Quota (AIQ) seats of National Law Universities.
After the Tamil Nadu National Law University has implemented the 50% OBC reservations in AIQs for LLB and LLM courses, AIOBCSA has welcomed the decision and asked other NLUs to follow the same.
AIOBCSA tweet reads, "We raised our voice strongly on non-implementation of OBC Reservations in the All India Quota (AIQ) seats of National Law Universities. Today TNNLU implemented 50% OBC reservations in AIQs of LLB and LLM courses. We request other NLUs to follow TNNLU model."
AIOBCSA's other tweet reads, "We thank Thiru. @mkstalin, Honble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, for the implementation of OBC reservations in the All India Quota seats of TNNLU, Trichy. We request other NLUs to strictly implement OBC reservations in AIQs."
The government order in this regard says, "The Government, after careful consideration of the proposal of the Registrar, Tamil Nadu National Law University, and the recommendations of the National Commission for Backward Classes, have decided to follow the reservation in the admissions of Under Graduate/ Post Graduate/ PhD programmes offered by the Tamil Nadu National Law University to follow the aforesaid reservation in the admissions from the academic year 2022-2023 onwards."
