Odisha School Reopening: The Odisha government on November 10, 2021, announced its decision to reopen schools for Classes 6 and 7. According to the decision taken by the government, the schools would reopen from November 15. While the decision has been taken witnessing a decline in the number of COVID-19 cases, the schools have been directed to follow precautionary against the virus to avoid further spread. Teaching hours for these students will be 9.30 am to 1.00 pm, out of which three hours will be used for education, the School and Mass Education Department said.
The classes will be available via both online and offline mode. Students are allowed to attend classes either of the ways. Attendance is not mandatory for students in offline mode, the department said. No school can force the students to attend classes via offline mode only Tweet posted by the Information & Public Relations Department said, "State Govt have been pleased to allow reopening of schools in respect of Class VI & VII students for the academic year 2021-21 wef 15th Nov 2021.”
The School and Mass Education Department stated that both staff members and students must adhere to COVID protocols. Classroom teaching had been suspended since March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, offline classes will also resume for first-year postgraduate students from November 15. Physical classes for first-year undergraduate students for the 2021-22 academic session began in Odisha on November 1. For Class 10 and 12, offline classes began on July 26. For Class 11 and Class 8, offline classes commenced from October 21 and October 25, respectively.
