The confirmation came only after running tests as all the students and employees who have turned out positive for COVID-19 are asymptomatic.

Omicron Scare: Amid the rising fear of the new variant of COVID-19 virus, i.e. Omicron Variant, reports of yet another cluster outbreak of the novel coronavirus are emerging. According to TOI, a total of 59 students and 10 teaching and non-teaching staff of a government residential school in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru district have tested positive for the novel coronavirus on December 5.

The report further added that a residential school in NR Pura taluk run by the Union government witnessed 457 students and staffers testing positive for COVID-19 over the weekend after a school teacher tested positive for coronavirus three days ago.

The confirmation came only after running tests as all the students and employees who have turned out positive for COVID-19 are asymptomatic. 10 days before this case, a medical college in Dharwad became a hot stop for the novel coronavirus spread as more than 300 freshers and seniors tested positive for the deadly virus.

While talking to the media house, Chikkamagaluru deputy commissioner KN Ramesh told that the medical team collected the swabs on Friday and Saturday. Medical teams and an ambulance has been kept on standby. While the patients are being treated, special measures are being taken to control the further spread of the novel coronavirus. Random tests are being conducted to curb the spread of COVID-19 among the masses.
