PM Modi to unveil AIIMS Bilaspur in 2nd week of September

As per official sources, PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bilaspur in second week of September.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bilaspur during his visit to Chattisgarh in September this year. As per the sources, he will unveil the AIIMS in the Bilaspur district in the second week of September.

"Keeping eye on the declaration of the assembly elections and as the Model Code of Conduct comes into force immediately, the programme has been scheduled in the second week of September," an official said, as reported by Millennium Post.

Chattisgarh getting ready for PM Modi's visit

Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has called a review meeting this week with the government officials and director of AIIMS to know about the status of AIIMS Bilaspur which was officially approved under Phase 5 of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) by the Union Cabinet on January 3, 2018.

The new AIIMS will help in providing affordable and quality healthcare services to the people in the region and will also offer quality medical education to future doctors. AIIMS Bilaspur is built at the estimated cost of INR 1500 crore.

The premium medical institution is built over nearly 247 acre (99.96 hectares) of land on National Highway 205 (Shimla - Kangra road) in the village of Kothipura in the Bilaspur district.

AIIMS Bilaspur Director, Dr Vir Singh Negi said, "It intends to develop new and improved patterns of teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education in all its branches so as to demonstrate a high standard of medical education to all medical colleges and other allied institutions in India."
