PM-YUVA mentorship Scheme: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released an official notification for various educational institutions to disseminate information about the PM-YUVA mentorship scheme for young authors 2.0. Aspirants must note that the national contest for potential YUVA 2.0 candidates will end on January 15, 2023 at innovateindia.mygov.in/yuva.
Under this scheme, the contestants are asked to submit a non-fiction book proposal of 10,000 words- synopsis: 2,000-3,000 words; chapter plan; sample chapters: 7,000-8,000 words and bibliography and references. The submitted entries for PM Yuva 2.0 scheme will be evaluated from January 16 to March 31, 2023.
The commission will select 75 authors through the competition. These selected candidates will get a scholarship of INR 50,000 per month for a period of six months. In addition to this, the National Book Trust (NBT) will be publishing the books by selected authors under the mentorship scheme.
The books prepared under this scheme will be published by the NBT and will also be translated into other Indian languages ensuring the exchange of culture and literature, thereby promoting 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'.
