Punjabi University Admissions 2022: Punjabi University has announced that it has extended the last date for submission of application form for undergraduate courses. Candidates who wish to take admission to Punjabi University and its constituent colleges, neighbourhood campuses and affiliated colleges without late fee can now submit the application form from until August 31, 2022. As per reports, the decision was taken after the CBSE 12th Result 2022 was announced, and the University Grants Commissions (UGCs) directives to extend the last date of admission for at least a month.

However, as per the reports by the tribune, the decision to extend the application form submission deadline was due to low student intake at respective colleges and campuses. “This has been going on for some years at some constituent colleges and neighbourhood campuses”, the reports stated.

The reports further stated that the student intake was pretty low due to the ongoing protest of guest faculty. The office of the University Dean, College Development Council, releasing the notification said the last date of admission without late fee has been extended from July 25 to August 31.

Dean College Development Council, Gurpreet Singh Lehal, said "the notification was released after a demand for extension was raised by the CBSE." He said while the Punjab Board PSEB 12th Board results 2022 had been released over four weeks ago, the CBSE had released the results last week."

Over 100 guest teachers at Punjabi University held a protest on Monday by banging metal utensils. The teachers are demanding payment for work done throughout the year. They have been protesting for over the last 40 days.
