AFCAT allowances
In addition to AFCAT salary, Air Force Officers are entitled to various allowances based on the nature of duty/place of posting. The allowances that Air Force Officers are entitled to include Flying Allowance offered to Flying Branch Officers, Technical Allowance given to Technical Branch Officers. Candidates are also entitled to allowances such as Test Pilot & Flight Test Engineer, Field Area Allowance, Special Force, Siachen, Special Compensatory (Hill area), Island Special Duty, Area, and Remote Locality Allowance.

AFCAT Medical Standard
The basic requirements of medical fitness are essentially the same for all branches, except for aircrew in whom the parameters for visual acuity, anthropometry and certain other physical standards are more stringent. A candidate will not be assessed physically fit unless the examination as a whole shows that he is physically and mentally capable of withstanding severe physical and mental strain for prolonged periods in any climate in any part of the world. The medical standards spelt out pertain to initial entry medical standards. If, however, any disease or disability is detected during the training phase, which will have a bearing on the flight cadets subsequent physical fitness and medical category; such cases will be referred expeditiously to IAM (for aircrew)/ specialists of MH (for non-aircrew) under intimation to the office of DGMS (Air)-Med-7. At IAM, if the disease or disability is considered of a permanent nature, an early decision for the cadet to continue in the service/ branch/ stream is to be taken. Specific waivers of DGMS (Air), if asked for, must carry full justification in accordance with relevant Para of IAP 4303 4th edition (revised).

AFCAT Salary
The monthly stipend is INR 56,100. The following pay/allowances will be applicable on grant of Commission to Flying Officers:
Pay in Pay Band ( Common to all Branches ) - INR 56,100 Per Month ( The officer will be placed in Level 10 in the Pay Matrix of 7th CPC - 56,100-1,10,700)
Military Service Pay: INR 15,500 Per Month
Other allowances such as Transport allowance, Children Education Allowance, HRA etc. are also admissible to Officers. In addition the following allowances are admissible to the newly Commissioned Officers in Flying and Technical Branches:

AFCAT Salary
The stipend offered to men and women cadets during the entire duration of training at any of the Air Force Training Institutions is INR 56,100 per month (Starting pay in Level 10). There is certain age relaxation of two years for CPL (Commercial Pilot License) holders. However, one needs to meet the educational qualification criteria. Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1993 to 01 January 1999 (both dates inclusive). Also note that the age relaxation is for holders of CPL issued by DGCA (India) only. CPL issued by any other body / country may not qualify you for age relaxation etc.
