CDS 2 2024: The Union Public Service Commission will start the CDS 2 exam today (September 1, 2024) at 9 a.m. It will be conducted in three shifts. The English exam commenced from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. GK will be from 12 pm to 2 pm and Maths from 3 pm to 5 pm. Candidates appearing in the CDS 2 exam 2024 must bring their hall ticket and follow all the important exam day guidelines mentioned on it. The CDS 2 examination 2024 will be conducted to fill 459 posts in the organisation. 

CDS 2 Exam 2024: Shift Timings

Candidates must enter the CDS 2 examination room at least 30 minutes before the exam start time. Also, the entrance to the examination hall is closed for each session, ten minutes before the scheduled start time. Check below the CDS 2 exam 2024 shift timings.

CDS 2 Exam Day Guidelines 2024

Candidates can check below the exam day guidelines for the CDS 2 2024 exam: 

  • Candidates should bring their admit cards along with the original photo identity card. Candidates must preserve their admit cards till the declaration of final results.
  • Candidates must enter the exam hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the CDS exam. Entry to the examination venue closes 10 minutes prior to the scheduled commencement of the exam in each session.
  • Candidates should note that they will not be allowed to appear at any other venue except the venue mentioned in the e-admit card.
  • There is a negative marking for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective-type question papers.
  • Candidates should only use 'Black Ball Point Pen' to fill the OMR Sheet.
  • Mobile phones, calculators, or any electronic gadgets are not allowed inside the exam centre premises.
  • Candidates are advised not to bring any valuables/costly items to the examination hall.
  • Candidates whose photographs on the e-admit card are not clear, have to bring photo-identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Passport, Voter Card, and three passport size photographs one for each session for appearing in the exam with an undertaking.
  • Candidates can wear a watch inside the examination centre but only an analog one. Smart and digital watches are not allowed inside the examination centre.

Q:   What are the exam dates for CDS 2025 exam?

The Union Public Service Commission released the exam calendar for the year 2025. According to the UPSC CDS calendar the CDS 1 2025 application form and the notification was released on December 11, 2024 and the last date to apply was January 1, 2025 (extended). The CDS 1 exam will be conducted on April 13, 2025. On the other hand the CDS 2 exam application and notification will be released on May 28, 2025. The application remained active till June 17, 2025. However, the exam for the CDS 2 2025 will be conducted on September 14, 2025.

The candidates must be aware that these dates are released by UPSC through exam calendar. There are slight chances that the exam dates get changed due to any circumstance. However, the candidates must prepare for the CDS exams according to these exam dates.

Q:   What documents do I need to carry to the CDS exam centre?

Candidates need to carry the following documents to the CDS exam centre: 1. CDS Admit Card: Candidates must carry the CDS admit card to the exam centre. The admit card will be released by the Union Public Service Commission UPSC a few weeks before the exam. 2. Photo ID Proof: Candidates must carry a valid photo ID proof, such as Aadhaar card, PAN card, driving license, or passport, to the exam centre. The ID proof must be original and should not be expired. 3. Two passport size photographs: Candidates must carry two passport size photographs to the exam centre. The photographs should be recent and identical. Candidates should ensure that all the details mentioned on the admit card, photo ID proof, and photographs match with each other. Candidates should also reach the exam centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. It's important to note that candidates who fail to carry any of the above documents to the exam centre will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Q:   Can I carry calculator to the CDS exam centre?

No, candidates are not allowed to carry calculators or any electronic devices to the CDS exam centre. The list of prohibited items may vary each year, and candidates should check the instructions mentioned in the admit card or the official notification for the exam to know the complete list of prohibited items. However, candidates are allowed to carry a simple non-programmable calculator to the OTA (Officers' Training Academy) exam centre. The calculator should not have any memory, text storage, or retrieval capability. It's important to note that candidates who violate the instructions or carry any prohibited items to the exam centre will be disqualified from the exam and may face other penalties as per the rules and regulations of the UPSC.
