CSIR NET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the CSIR UGC NET exam to evaluate the knowledge and eligibility of the candidate for the JRF and LS (Lectureship). As per the announced date, the CSIR NET 2024 will be conducted from tomorrow: July 25 for Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences. The CSIR UGC NET will be held on July 26 and 27 as well for Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Life Sciences and Chemical Sciences.

The exam will be held in online CBT (Computer-based test) mode for two shifts. Those who have been issued the CSIR NET admit card must carry it while appearing for the entrance exam. They also need to follow the CSIR UGC NET exam day at the centres for smooth conduction.

CSIR UGC NET 2024 Exam Guidelines

Candidates must check the below-mentioned guidelines when taking the CSIR NET 2024 exam:

  • Candidates must reach the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned in CSIR NET 2024 admit card
  • They must note that once the gates are closed, candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre
  • While going for the exam they must carry their CSIR UGC NET admit card along with any one photo ID card
  • They must not carry any electronic devices, or mobile phones to the CSIR NET exam centre
  • They should not wear shoes or footwear with thick soles.
  • They must note that they are not allowed to wear clothes with large buttons to the test centre
  • Also, they will not be allowed to leave the exam hall before the CSIR UGC NET is over
  • After the exam, they must wait for the invigilator's instructions before leaving the exam hall

CSIR NET Notification 2024 for the December Session has been released by the National Testing Agency on the official website. Along with the notification, CSIR NET December Application Form 2024 is also released by the NTA. Interested candidates will be able to apply for the CSIR NET 2024 exam by registering on the official website. The NTA will release the CSIR NET Notification in a PDF format.

The CSIR NET 2024 exam dates for the December session are February 16 to February 28, 2025. However, the June session was conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for 5 subjects from July 25 to July 27, 2024. The National Testing Agency NTA has been entrusted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) to conduct the Joint CSIR UGC NET exam to determine the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship (LS) in Indian universities and colleges. There will be five papers: Mathematical Science, Life Science, Chemical Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science. Normally, NTA CSIR UGC NET is conducted twice a year in June and December. The CSIR NET exam is held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Q:   Which are the cities where CSIR NET exam is conducted?

A:
The CSIR NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test) exam is conducted in various cities across India. CSIR NET exam is conducted in a total of 225 cities. The cities where the exam is conducted are spread across different states and regions of India, and include major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, and others. Candidates can select their preferred city for appearing in the exam during the online application process, subject to availability. The exact list of cities where the exam will be conducted is usually announced by the CSIR along with the notification for the exam.

Q:   What photo ID proofs do I need to carry to the CSIR NET exam centre?

A:
Candidates need to carry anyone of photo-ID proofs such as Passport/ PAN Card/Driving License/ Voter Card/ Bank Passbook/ Aadhaar Card/ Ration Card. Candidates will be allowed to carry the following items to the CSIR NET examination centres: a) Personal transparent water bottle, b) Personal hand sanitiser (50 ml) c) A simple transparent Ball Point Pen d) CSIR NET admit card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the NTA website e) Additional passport-size photograph f) Original valid ID proof No candidate will be allowed to enter the centre wearing his/ her own mask. The face mask will be provided at the centre.
