Iran dropped India from Chabahar Port Rail project connecting Afghanistan
Iran dropped India from the ambitious Chabahar Port Rail Project, citing the funding delays from India. India and Iran signed the agreement to construct the rail line from Chabahar port to Zahedan, near Afghanistan border. Later the rail line is expected to be extended till Zaranj in Afghanistan
In May 2016, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Tehran to sign the Chabahar agreement with Iranian President Rouhani and Afghanistan President Ghani, IRCON had signed an MoU with the Iranian Rail Ministry.
Bharat Biotech Ltd. started the first phase of human clinical trials for Covaxin
Bharat Biotech Ltd. has started the first phase of indigenously and inactivated vaccine, developed for Corona, ‘Covaxin’ on July 14, 2020. Covaxin is being developed by the Hyderabad based Bharat Biotech Ltd. in collaboration with the Pune based Indian Council of Medical Research’s National Institute of Virology (ICMR-NIV). The vaccine trials would have a considerable sample size of 1,500 persons spread across India.
At present, ICMR-NIV has added a protocol of conducting antibody test on the volunteers. “This would help further in knowing whether the person has been infected by the virus. If yes, the subject would not participate in further stages of the trial,” the ICMR official said.
Madhya Pradesh Topped in implementing PM SVANidhi
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister on July 12 told in a video conferencing event that MP has topped among all states to implement the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendors Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) yojana. He stated that his government-sanctioned interest-free loan to 15,500 street vendors.
PM SVANidhi is a centrally sponsored scheme launched on June 1, 2020 to channelize the institutional credit to the street vendors. The scheme is funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
206th Bhanu Jayanti celebrated in Sikkim
Bhanu Jayanti is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Bhanubhakt Acharya. He was the first writer who translated the Ramayan.
Bhanubhakta Acharya was born on July 13, 1813 in Nepal’s Tanahu district.
IIT Kanpur developed UV based sanitizing device SHUDH
Indian Institute of technology developed an ultraviolet light-based sanitizing device ‘SHUDH’. It is operated through a smartphone application and has six ultraviolet lights. It can sanitise compact room in fifteen minutes.

Congress removed Sachin Pilot from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan on July 14, 2020. Congress also removed Sachin Pilot from the position of state party chief. Congress removed him in the context that he is trying to topple the state government.
Poland’s President Andrzej Duda beat Trzaskowski in presidential elections
Poland’s incumbent President Andrzej Duda won the presidential vote by a narrow margin. The National Elector Commission announced that Mr Duda had won 51.2% votes. His opponent, Rafal Trzaskowski, trailed with 48.79% of the vote. It is the lowest winning margin of a president since the end of Communism in 1989.
Duda focused his campaign around defending traditional family values in the predominantly Catholic nation of 38 million people.
India is all set to get Raven and Spike UAV from US and Israel
Indian Army is all set to get the hand-launched, remotely controlled unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Raven from the United States of America. Besides Raven, the army is also eyeing to get the ammunition supplier UAV ‘Spike Firefly’ from Israel.
