IBPS PO 2024: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is all set to conduct the IBPS Prelims exam for the recruitment of Probationary Officers (PO) in public sector banks. With the exam scheduled to be conducted on October 19 and 20, 2024, candidates need to be well-prepared not only academically but also in terms of exam-day guidelines, time management, and the overall strategy to maximise performance.

Exam Day Guidelines for IBPS PO Prelims 2024

To avoid any last-minute confusion, candidates must adhere to the following guidelines on the day of the IBPS PO exam:

  • They must ensure to arrive at the exam centre at least 30-45 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on in IBPS PO admit card. Late entry is not permitted under any circumstances.
  • They must carry their IBPS PO Prelims admit card along with a valid government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar card, PAN card, Passport, etc.).
  • Make sure to bring a recent passport-size photograph (same as uploaded in the application form) and a photocopy of the ID proof.
  • Avoid wearing any jewellery, watches, or electronic gadgets. They must dress comfortably but avoid clothing with too many layers or pockets, as strict frisking will be conducted.
  • Rough sheets for calculations will be provided. They must carry their own ballpoint pen (black or blue ink). Do not carry any prohibited items like calculators, mobile phones, or any other electronic devices.
  • Biometric Verification: Fingerprint scanning will be done as part of the biometric verification process. Ensure your fingers are clean and free from any ink or mehndi to avoid any issues during this process.

The IBPS PO Prelims 2024 exam consists of three sections:

Each section has a time limit of 20 minutes, making the total exam duration 60 minutes. There is no sectional cutoff, but candidates must clear the overall cutoff to qualify for the next stage: IBPS PO Mains.

The public sector banks offer a good salary to candidates selected through IBPS PO exam. The basic salary is INR 23,700- (980 x 7) -30,560- (1145 x 2)-32850- (1310 x 7)-42,020. IBPS PO inhand salary ranges between INR 52,000 to 55,000 with dearness allowances, special allowances, HRA, and other perks. Q: Β  What is IBPS PO vacancies?

IBPS mentions IBPS PO reserve list to the extent of approximately 10 per cent of the vacancies under each category subject to the availability of candidates. This does not guarantee provisional allotment/recruitment by the participating banks. In the event of participating banks providing further vacancies, provisional allotment may be carried out three to four times for the candidates in the reserve list, based on the vacancies provided by some or any of the participating banks. However, if no vacancy is furnished by the participating banks owing to exigencies or otherwise during the validity period, the candidates under the reserve list will not be considered for provisional allotment. Candidates who are not provisionally allotted or not in the reserve list will not be considered for any further process.
