UPSC released the Engineering Services Exam (ESE) 2022 notification on September 22 as per the exam calendar released earlier. The candidates should read the official notification to ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility criteria. The last date to apply online for IES 2022 exam is October 12, 2021.

How to apply online for IES 2022?

The candidates can apply online for the ESE 2022 exam in the manner given below.

• Go to the official website of UPSC-upsc.gov.in
• Click on the ESE 2022 notification link given under What’s New Section
• Click on the application link for the IES 2022 exam.
• Fill in the required personal, academic and professional details
• Submit the application fee prescribed for the category
• Submit the application and take a printout of the application form

The candidates must refer to the IES 2022 notification before filling the application to ensure that they conform to all the essential qualifications as laid down by the UPSC.

UPSC conduct the ESE exam every year to recruit graduate engineers for different central government departments and undertakings. The candidates need to appear for the papers under the following four engineering streams irrespective of their specialisation in the engineering degree.

1. Mechanical
2. Civil
3. Electrical
4. Electronic and Telecommunication

These engineering graduates join the organisation as executive engineers in most of the departments. The IES exam is a three-stage exam where the candidates need to qualify at each stage.

• IES Prelims Exam
• IES Main Exam
• IES interview

The marks secure at each stage is considered for the final merit. The IES Prelims exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 20, 2022. As per the UPSC, the admit card for the IES 2022 prelims exam will be released three weeks before the exam date.
