Indian Army Opens Recruitment for Soldiers, Clerks, and Tradesmen in Territorial Army Battalions; Check Eligibility

The Indian Army has released the notification for the posts of Soldiers, Clerks, and Tradesmen in various Battalions and Units under the Territorial Army. Eligible candidates between 18 and 42 years of age can apply for the recruitment drive. Notably, they are not required to submit applications online or offline for the Territorial Army Bharti Rally 2024.
The selection process for the Territorial Army will include a Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Exam, Medical Examination, Trade Test (depending on the post), and Document Verification.
Recruitment for eight Infantry Battalions and two Home and Hearth Battalions of the Territorial Army for Zone-1, covering the states and UTs of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Delhi (NCT), will be conducted at four locations: Madhopur, Ludhiana, Kalka, and New Delhi.
Territorial Army Battalions Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility requirement has been specified by the officials for all the posts. Candidates can check the educational qualifications required for different posts below:
- Soldier (General Duty): Candidates must have passed Class 10/Matric with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks and at least 33% in each subject. For boards that follow a grading system, a minimum of a D grade (33-40%) is required in individual subjects, with an overall aggregate of at least a C2 grade.
- Soldier (Clerk): Candidates must have passed the 10+2/Intermediate Exam in any stream (Arts, Commerce, or Science) with at least 60 percent aggregate marks and a minimum of 50 percent in each subject. It is mandatory to secure at least 50% marks in both English and Maths/Accounts/Book Keeping in Class 12.
- Soldier Tradesmen (All Tradesmen except House Keeper & Mess Keeper): Candidates must have passed class 10 with no minimum aggregate percentage requirement, but they should have obtained at least 33% in each subject.
- Soldier Tradesmen (House Keeper & Mess Keeper): Candidates must have passed Class 8 with no minimum aggregate percentage requirement, but they should have achieved at least 33% in each subject.

There are qualifying marks in Territorial Army exam. To qualify the Territorial Army exam, candidates need to secure the prescribed qualifying marks. To qualify each section of the Territorial Army written exam, candidates must score 40 per cent. The overall qualifying marks in the exam is 50 per cent. Besides securing the qualifying marks, candidates are also required to secure the cut off. Those who secure both the qualifying marks and cut off are considered as qualified in the exam.
