The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has released the State Services Preliminary Examination notification. An advertisement of as many as 196 vacancies which are available with the various government departments has been released by the Commission. The MPSC application process for the preliminary examinations began on December 23 and will conclude on January 13, 2020.
The preliminary exam for State Services will tentatively be held on April 5, 2020. The main examination for candidates who qualify in the prelims will be held on August 2, 3, and 4, 2020.
Eligibility
To be able to apply for the MPSC prelims, the candidates must check the eligibility criteria carefully. An applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised University. The lower age limit is 18 years while the upper age limit is 38 years for unreserved categories. For the reserved categories, the upper age limit is 43.
All the eligible candidates must visit the Commission’s official website and apply for the same.
For the general category candidates, an application fee of Rs 524 has to be paid, while for the reserved category, the candidates will be required to pay Rs 324.
About the exam
Maharashtra State Services Preliminary Examination will be held for 400 marks. The main exam will be for 800 marks, followed by a round of personal interview, which will carry 100 marks. All the candidates who clear the prelims will be shortlisted for the main exam, clearing which, the candidates will be required to go through the interview round.
