Punjab Government has announced that PSTET 2023 which was conducted on March 12, 2023, will remain cancelled due to the marking of answers on the question paper. PSTET Exam will again be conducted for all the candidates.

PSTET 2023 Exam Cancelled

Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has cancelled the PSTET 2023 exam which was conducted on March 12, 2023, due to the marking of answers on the question paper. Punjab Government has announced that the PSTET exam will soon be conducted again for all candidates. According to the media reports, the answers were marked in the bold format in the PSTET question papers. According to the Punjab Government, the new PSTET exam date will be announced on the official website. 

The Punjab State Teachers’ Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2023 was conducted on March 12. Over 1 lakh candidates appeared for the exam to qualify for teachers vacancies for Classes 6 to 8 in the state. The right answers in the social studies exam for over 50 questions were marked in bold, as per reports.

PSTET is a state-level exam conducted by the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) to determine the eligibility of candidates for Primary (Classes 1 to 5) and Upper Primary (Classes 6-8) level teachers in the schools of Punjab.

Punjab Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, has announced a high-level probe into this matter. He tweeted "To maintain complete fairness in our examination process, a PS level probe has been ordered to look into PSTET exam conducted by a Third Party with A NAAC grade i.e. GNDU. Accountability will be fixed & those found guilty will be booked for criminal negligence".

According to the government, the PSTET 2023 exam will be re-conducted by PSEB for all the candidates. The new PSTET exam date will soon be released on the official website.
