They have been detained on allegations of utilizing unfair means to clear the 2021 Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector examination.

In a significant development, 14 trainee sub-inspectors, including the top scorer in the recruitment exam, have been detained on allegations of utilizing unfair means to clear the 2021 Rajasthan Police Sub-Inspector examination. Following their detention, they were produced before a local court on Wednesday, which subsequently remanded them to six days of police custody.

As per reports, Prahlad Bajiya, the advocate representing the Special Operations Group (SOG) handling the case, disclosed that while the police requested a custody period of 12 days, the court granted a six-day extension. He emphasized the necessity of this custody period to gather evidence regarding the illicit methods employed by the accused to pass the examination.

The detention was conducted within the bounds of the law, aiming to facilitate a thorough investigation into the matter. The court's decision to grant police custody underscores the gravity of the accusations and the need to unravel the complexities surrounding the case.

Bajiya highlighted the severity of the alleged crimes, emphasizing that while Section 419 is a bailable offense, Section 420 carries a punishment of up to seven years. He stressed the detrimental impact of such actions on the prospects and aspirations of numerous deserving candidates.

The Rajasthan Police has asserted that the detained trainees purportedly cleared the exams through deceptive means, raising concerns about the integrity of the recruitment process and the prevalence of malpractice in such examinations.

The investigation into the paper leak case has shed light on the complicity of various individuals and institutions, prompting authorities to pursue stringent measures to uphold the sanctity of recruitment procedures and safeguard the interests of deserving candidates.
