REET 2024: The Board of Secondary Education Rajasthan (RBSE) has introduced a significant change to the marking process for the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) 2024. Among other changes, the REET 2024 question paper will now feature five answer options instead of four. This change was announced by the board while outlining the updated REET marking scheme for the exam.
The officials also tweeted on X (formerly Twitter), "New OMR rule has been implemented. In such a situation, there will be 5 options instead of 4 in the question paper. If you do not know the answer to any question and do not fill the fifth option, then negative marking of 1/3 marks will be done."
Five Options Instead of Four in REET 2024
A new OMR rule has been implemented for REET. Under this revised system, the REET question paper will now have five answer options instead of the usual four. In the event that a candidate chooses not to answer a particular question, it is mandatory to fill the fifth option.
Introduction of Negative Marking in REET 2024
As per the revised REET exam pattern 2024, if a candidate chooses not to answer a particular question, it is mandatory to fill in the fifth option. Failure to do so will result in a penalty, with a deduction of 1/3 mark for each unanswered question left without filling the fifth option.
If a candidate selects an incorrect answer or fails to choose an answer from the five options provided, a negative marking will be applied. The board clarified that for each wrong answer, 1/3 mark will be deducted from the total marks allocated for that question.
REET 2024
The REET exam will be conducted in two levels: REET Level 1 for those aspiring to teach Classes 1 to 5, and REET Level 2 for those aiming to teach Classes 6 to 8. According to the schedule, the exam is set to take place on February 27, with the registration process closing on January 15, 2025.
