The caste certificate, in pdf format, should be less than 500 KB. Photograph, in JPEG format, should be between 30 KB to 70 KB. Scanned Signature, in JPEG format, should be between 30 KB to 70 KB. All dimensions are displayed in the ‘Upload Profile Documents’ page itself.

Candidates need to submit their applications online only. There is no facility to submit the application forms offline.

Shortlisting of Candidates for various stages shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them whenever CBT is conducted in multiple sessions for the same syllabus.

In case of two or more candidates securing same marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e., older person shall be placed at higher merit and in case age being same, then alphabetical order (A to Z) of the name shall be taken into account to break the tie. Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and community certificates and verification of antecedents/character of the candidates. Candidates may please note that RRBs only recommend names of the empaneled candidates and appointment is offered ONLY by the respective Railway Administrations.

Based on the performance of candidates in the examination candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options.

Total no. of candidates to be shortlisted shall be 15 times the community-wise vacancies of posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in 1st Stage CBT However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this limit in total or for any specific category(s) as required to ensure availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts. 

The 1st Stage CBT is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards prescribed for the posts. The normalized score of 1st Stage CBT shall be used for shortlisting of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT as per their merit.

 There shall be two stage Computer Based Test (CBTs) followed by “Computer based Typing Skill Test (TST) wherever applicable”
• Typing Skill Test for Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Clerk cum Typist.
• Subsequently, there will be document verification and medical examination.
• For Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and Trains Clerk there shall be two stage CBT followed by document verification and medical examination.

There shall be negative marking for incorrect answer in CBTs. Deduction of 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be made for each wrong answer.

RRB wise short listing of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT shall be done at the rate of 15 times the vacancies. The short listing for Computer Based Typing Skill Test shall be to the extent of 8 times the vacancies (may increase or decrease as per the requirement of Railway Administration) based on the merit of the candidates in 2nd Stage CBT. When a candidate is qualified in 1st stage CBT & shortlisted for subsequent stages as OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD he/she will continue to be considered as OBC/SC/ST/EWS/PwBD respectively in all subsequent stages.

Ex-Servicemen candidates who have already secured Civil employment, Serving Railway Employees (SRE) and serving employees in Central/State Government/Public Sector Undertakings should produce NOC at the time of Document Verification (DV).

Candidates seeking reservation on the basis of SC/ST/OBC/EWS status must ensure that they possess the caste/ community certificate as on the closing date (20.10.2024) for submission of application of this CEN. During DV, such candidates should produce their original caste/community certificate (in prescribed format) valid as on the closing date for submission of application.

Present district/state may be mentioned since some districts will not be shown for a respective state in lieu of bifurcation, i.e., after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in Two states (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana). Districts of combined Andhra Pradesh State have been divided into Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Moreover, districts of respective states have been further bifurcated. So, present district/ state may be mentioned to avoid ambiguity. 

EBC is ‘Economically Backward Class’. Economically Backward Class (EBC) candidates are those whose annual family income is less than Rs.50,000/- (or) holders of BPL Card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under are recognized poverty alleviation programme (or) holders of Izzat MST issued by Railways. Candidates should not confuse Economically Backward Class with Other Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class.

This facility is available only to SC/ST candidates. While filling up ONLINE application, such candidates, should choose ‘Yes’ from the drop-down under ‘Do you wish to avail free rail travel pass for the exam and fill up ‘Nearest Railway Station’. It is the responsibility of the candidates availing free travel authority to give the correct name of the Railway Station in online application, failing which their travel authority may get rejected while obtaining reservation. They are also required to upload their Caste Certificate.

Yes. Candidates should first login by using the old password. After logging in, Candidates then can change their old password by accessing the 'Change Password' option available on the upper righthand side of the online application page. 

Click on the 'Forgot Password' option on the login page. Enter either your registered email or mobile number along with your date of birth. The revised password will be sent to the candidate's registered email address. Candidates must then login using the revised password sent to their registered email. After logging in, Candidates then can create a new password by accessing the 'Change Password' option available on the upper right-hand side of the online application page. 

Applicants must possess a Gazette Notification or relevant legal documentation for name changes and be prepared to present it upon request during the recruitment process. The same should be submitted at the time of DV. Applicants should also have to fill the original name and the changed name during ‘Create an Account’. In such cases, both the names will be reflected in the application.

Aadhaar validation is required to ensure genuineness of candidature and to curb impersonation during exam. RRBs will not share Aadhaar details with any third party or use them for any purpose other than the objectives of this exam.

No, you should not. Multiple applications to same RRB will result in the rejection of all applications and will lead to debarment from all future examinations of RRB and RRC.

Candidates cannot edit any details of the Create an account’ once the account is created. However, in case of genuine reason candidates may send a request t email to rrb with necessary documents and the case will be examined and suitable decision taken. In such case, the necessary modification will be done at back end and candidates will be informed on registered email.

There is a minimum qualifying cut off in RRB NTPC exam. The minimum qualifying marks for CBT 1 and 2 for General, EWS categories is 40 per cent, for OBC and SC is 30 per cent and for ST category is 25 per cent.
