SSC CGL 2023 Eligibility Conditions Changed: See Here Details
SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2023 has been revised. All the candidates who will be appearing for the SSC CGL 2023 Exam can check the latest update on eligibility criteria in this criteria.
SSC CGL Eligibility 2023: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has revised the eligibility criteria for the SSC CGL 2023 Exam. SSC CGL 2023 will be conducted online from July 14 to 27. The Commission is expected to release the SSC CGL 2023 application status in June last week. Meanwhile, the commission has also extended the SSC CGL Application Fee Submission Date 2023. Candidates can now submit the application fee until today; i.e. May 5, 2023.
The Commission in an official notification said that, "The requirement of Cycling (8 Kms. in 30 minutes for Male candidates and 3 Kms. in 25 minutes for Female candidates) mentioned in Annexure-XVII, Heading โA, Sub-heading โ โPhysical Testโ, is omitted for both Male & Female candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector in Central Bureau of Narcotics, Ministry of Finance."

Earlier, the Commission had also revised the age eligibility criteria. As per SSC CGL 2023 notification, the minimum and maximum age requirement for applying to the exam is 18 and 32 years respectively. This age eligibility will be calculated as on August 1, 2023. Until last year, the commission used to consider January 1 of the notification year as age reckoning. Along with this, the other eligibility criteria that are mandatory to appear in the exam have been mentioned below.
SSC CGL Eligibility 2023: Nationality/Citizenship
A candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin migrated from either/or Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Note: The official notification reads, "A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India."
