UGC NET 2024 December Session Dates Changed: Check Subject-Wise Exam Schedule Here

The UGC NET exam is conducted in two shifts morning and evening. The NTA (National Testing Agency) will conduct the December session exam in more than 200 centres across India in several districts. The exam shift timing of the UGC NET 2024 exam is as follows: a) First Shift - 9.00 am to 12.00 pm b) Second Shift: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm The candidates are advised to report to the exam centre 30 minutes before the GATE closing time to avoid any mishap at the exam centre. At the exa centre the candidates can bring a transparent water bottle, and ballpoint pen along with two photographs and photo identity proof.

The NTA has changed the UGC NET 2024 examination dates that were released earlier. Now instead of January 1, it will start on January 3, 2025. It will end on January 16, 2025, instead of January 19, 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC NET December 2024 for (i) 'awardof Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor', (ii) 'appointment
as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.' and (iii) 'admission to Ph.D. only' for 85 subjects in CBT, mode.

The UGC NET Paper 1 syllabus comprises 10 unit that assess the teaching, reasoning, research and other abilities of the candidates. A total of 50 questions for two marks each are asked in UGC NET Paper 1 exam. The candidates who are preparing for the UC NET 2024 exam can check the syllabus of the exam below:

The minimum qualifying mark for the general category is 40% and for the reserved category is 35% for both papers. Usually, the UGC NET cutoff for the JRF is higher as compared to the assistant professor. Also, the difference between the cutoffs depends upon the difficulty level of the exam. 

The NTA will conduct the UGC NET 2024 December session exam from January 3 to January 16, 2025. The NTA will release the UGC NET 2024 admit card for December session on the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in. Candidates will be able to download their UGC NET 2024 admit card by using their login credentials. The details mentioned on the UGC NET admit card are the name of the candidate, roll number, application number, exam date and time, exam centre address, etc.
