UGC NET Jan 15 Exam Postponed
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has postponed the UGC NET exam scheduled on January 15, 2025 (Wednesday) due to Pongal, Makar Sankranti, and other festivals. The new exam date has not been announced. As per the official notice released by NTA on January 13, 2025, it will be announced later. The NTA received a representation to postpone the UGC NET December 2024 examination, and in the interest of candidates, the request was granted. As per NTA, the examination scheduled on January 16, 2025, will be conducted as per the earlier schedule.

The UGC NET 2024 December session exam initial dates were January 3 to January 16, 2025. The NTA conducts the UGC NET exam for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor appointments, and Ph.D. admissions for 85 subjects in CBT mode.

Q: What are the documents needed along with admit card at UGC NET exam centre?
Candidates appearing for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) in 2024 are required to carry the following documents to the examination centre:
- UGC NET Admit Card: The admit card is a mandatory document that candidates must carry to the examination centre. It contains important information about the candidate and serves as a proof of their candidature.
- Photo ID Proof: Candidates must also carry a valid photo ID proof to the examination centre. The ID proof can be any one of the following - Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, PAN Card, Driving License, or any other government-issued ID proof.

The UGC NET exam is conducted in two shifts morning and evening. The NTA (National Testing Agency) will conduct the December session exam in more than 200 centres across India in several districts. The exam shift timing of the UGC NET 2024 exam is as follows: a) First Shift - 9.00 am to 12.00 pm b) Second Shift: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm The candidates are advised to report to the exam centre 30 minutes before the GATE closing time to avoid any mishap at the exam centre. At the exa centre the candidates can bring a transparent water bottle, and ballpoint pen along with two photographs and photo identity proof.
