The Uttar Pradesh government conducted a written examination for the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in council primary schools.

The Uttar Pradesh government conducted a written examination for the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in council primary schools. The result of the written examination for the recruitment is out. According to the reports, Out of the 4, 31,466 candidates who registered for the exam held on January 6, 2019, a total of 4, 09,530 candidates attended the written exam. Out of the ones who appeared for the examination, only 1,46,060 (35.66 percent) successfully cleared the examination. The data shared by the examination authorities suggest, there are 36,614 general category, 84,868 OBC, 24,308 SC and 270 candidates of ST who cleared the exam.

The result of the written examination officially announced after the examination committee meeting at 12.30 pm at the examination regulatory authority office. According to the syllabus, 38610 candidates doing DLEd (BTC), Shikshamitra 8018, B.Ed 97368 and 2064 candidates doing other courses qualified the examination. Candidates who appeared in the examinations will be able to see and download their results on Wednesday i.e. May 13 from the official website of the examination regulatory authority (Uttar Pradesh, Prayagraj) i.e. atrexam.upsdc.gov.in. The council already released the final answer key for the recruitment examination.

The Uttar Pradesh Primary Shikshamitra Association moved to the Supreme Court on May 11 against the Allahabad High Court's decision regarding the 69000 assistant teacher recruitment case. This petition, filed by advocate Gaurav Yadav, has sought a stay on the revocation of the Allahabad High Court verdict.

Earlier on May 5, the Lucknow Bench of the High Court ordered the recruitment of 69000 assistant teachers in council primary schools within 60 months on the basis of 60-65 percent marks. According to the order, the general category candidates will have to get 65 per cent marks in 150 and 60 per cent marks for the reserved category candidates. After this, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the authorities to complete the recruitment process of 69000 teachers within a week.
