UP Police Exam Paper Leak Leads to Arrest of Delhi Constable; Re-Exam Dates Soon

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UPSTF) arrested Delhi police constable Vikram Pahal for his involvement in the UP police constable exam paper leak. Pahal aided candidates aboard buses at a hotel in Haryana, where the question papers were subsequently distributed. STF investigators mentioned Vikram's frequent travels across Delhi, Rajasthan, and Haryana.
STF officials stated that Pahal is the 402nd individual arrested in connection with this case. The investigation into the paper leak extends across six states: Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. More than 43 lakh candidates appeared for the exam across various centres in Uttar Pradesh on February 17 and 18, 2024.
Following the UP Police question paper leak, Vikram Pahal had evaded arrest for nearly two months. He was eventually apprehended in the UP paper leak case after authorities received a crucial tip-off. He is a resident of Jind, Haryana and was recruited as a constable in Delhi Police in 2010 and served there at different units for around 14 years.
Earlier, the STF arrested Rajiv Nayan Mishra, 32, one of the two masterminds behind the UP Police Constable question paper leak. He disclosed that the candidates had access to and solved the question papers on February 16, roughly 24 hours before the recruitment exam.
The other main accused in the scandal, Ravi Attri, was also arrested on April 10. Till now, the investigation has led to the arrest of over 400 individuals in connection with the leak.
UP Police Constable 2024 Exam
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) will soon release the UP Police Re-Exam date 2024. The recruitment exam for UP Police Constable which was conducted on February 17 and 18, 2024, was cancelled due to allegations of paper leaks. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, announced that a re-exam will be held within 6 months.
