UPPSC Introduces Digital Locks to Prevent Question Paper Leaks

UPPSC Question Paper Leak 2024: After the recent paper leak incidents, the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has increased the security of its question papers. Moving forward, the UPPSC question papers will be stored in boxes fitted with advanced multi-layered digital locks, making tampering more difficult. This measure follows a successful implementation last year when UPPSC stored question papers for two recruitment exams in similar secure boxes.

The commission will use a digital lock system with a unique code. Each box will feature locks on both sides, ensuring the integrity of UPPSC question papers even if screws are removed. The digital lock code will be held by the commission officer, who will open it 30 minutes before the exam. This procedure allows for the secure retrieval of UPPSC question paper bundles by opening the box at the exam centre.

Digital Locks for Recruitment Exams

This system will now be implemented in all recruitment exams. Additionally, a control room will be established at each examination conducted by the Recruitment Board or Selection Commission to oversee the entire recruitment process. From retrieving papers from the treasury to unsealing question paper bundles at the exam centre, every step will be monitored via CCTV cameras, with recordings archived for one year.

The exam question papers will be taken out of the printing press in iron boxes - with multi-layered digital locks and screws and kept in the treasury of respective districts. From the treasury, the question papers will be delivered to exam centres in these boxes.

At exam centres, packets of question papers will be taken out of the box following the prescribed procedure. The entire process - keeping and taking the boxes out of the treasury and opening the question paper packets at exam centres will be videographed.
