UPSC Prelims Result 2024 Soon. Check Civil Service (IAS) Merit List & Expected Cutoff

The Union Public Service Commission released its 2025 exam calendar in April. The UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 will be conducted on May 25, 2025.

The Union Public Service Commission released the UPSC CSE Main exam dates in its official exam calendar. The UPSC CSE Main exam 2024 will start on September 20, 2024.

The candidates should note that the Commission will invite the Qualified candidates to fill out the Detailed Application Form (DAF) for the main exam.

The Union Public Service Commission is expected to release the Civil Service Exam Result 2024 soon on its official website - upsc.gov.in.

The candidates should note that the Indian Foreign Service is not an All India Service it is a Central Civil Service.

The candidates should note that the UPSC Civil Service Prelims exam is combinedly organised for all the three All India Services. The three All India Services are

The Commission recruits 200 candidates for the Indian Police Service Every Year.

The candidates should note that the Commission is recruiting 180 candidates for Indian Administrative Services every year. This year too, the same number of candidates will be recruited for IAS.

The Union Public Service Commission notified 1,056 vacancies for the Civil Service Exam 2024. Considering the vacancies, the Commission will select around 12,672 candidates for the UPSC CSE Main exam 2024.

The Union Public Service Commission will release the UPSC CSE Prelims result 2024 in two pdfs. One will contains the names of the qualified candidates and other will contain the roll number of the candidates.

Yes, there is a negative marking of one by three in the UPSC Civil Service Prelims Exam 2024. The Union Public Service Commission mention the quantum of negative marking in the official notification as well as in the question paper also. The Commission deduct 0.66 marks for each incorrect answer in the General Studies Paper 1.

The Union Public Service Commission notified 1,056 vacancies in the UPSC CSE 2024 notification. The candidates can expected increase in the vacancies because the Commission accept the requisition from the Central Ministries till prelims exam and add them into the same year's vacancies.

The candidates who appeared in the UPSC Prelims exam 2024 shared that the Civil Service Prelims exam was easy with some moderate difficulty. The UPSC CSE Prelims CSAT paper is qualifying only and the marks scored in the General Studies Paper 2 (CSAT) are not considered for the final merit list. The candidates should note that they are required to score 33 % marks in the General Studies Paper 2. The total marks are 200. So the candidates are required to score 66 marks in the UPSC CSAT paper.

The Union Public Service Commission releases the UPSC Civil Service Exam Result within a fortnight of the prelims exam. Last year, the prelims exam was conducted on May 28 and the result was released on June 12. This year, the UPSC CSE Prelims 2024 was held on June 16 and the result can be released anytime now.

The candidates should note that the UPSC CSE merit list is prepared based on the marks secured in the General Studies Paper 1 marks. The UPSC CSE Prelims General Studies Paper 2 is qualifying only.
