Bihar Schools Shut: In the midst of severe cold wave conditions in the capital Patna, the government has announced that schools in the state will remain closed for students up to Class 8. According to the order, schools will be closed between December 26 and year-end December 31. The District Magistrate announced this in view of cold wave conditions in Bihar's Patna.
The District Magistrate said, "In view of the cold wave conditions, schools in Patna will remain closed for students up to class 8 from December 26 to December 31."
With continuously dropping temperatures in Northern India various staes have announced winter breaks. Along with Patna, Delhi has also announced closure for its schools. Delhi Schools will be closed for winter vacation for students from January 1 to 15, 2023. However, remedial classes will be conducted during this period for class 9 to class 12 students between January 2 and January 14, 2023.
Weather Department said, “Dense Fog in isolated pockets likely over the region during subsequent 3-4 days.."
IMD shared that cold wave/severe cold wave conditions are very likely in some parts over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, north Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
"Cold Wave/Severe Cold Wave Conditions very likely in some parts over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, north Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during next 24 hours and gradual reduction in intensity & spread thereafter with Cold Wave Conditions in isolated pockets over the region during subsequent 2 days. Cold Wave Conditions very likely in isolated pockets over Saurashtra & Kutch during next 2 days," it said.
