The HEIs/INIs/Colleges are further requested to disseminate information about their programmes widely so that people across the country feel connected on this important day.

Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav: UGC requests HEIs to organise multilingual festivals 

The 75 days Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav is being conducted by the HEIs from September 28, 2023, and it will conclude on December 11, 2023, which is Janma Jayanti of renowned Tamil Poet and freedom fighter Subramania Bharati.

UGC has requested all the HEIs/INIs/Colleges to organise unique multilingual festivals on a grand scale to mark the occasion. 

"Every institution is advised to hold a day long festivals with the participations of students, teahcers, parents nad members of the public. Programmes may include "My Signature in my Mother Tongue Campaign", Multillingual Cultural Programme, Speeches, Cultural Programmes, games, Fun Activities, Film Screenings in different languages,seminars, Workshops, Debates, Cuisine Corners from different liguistic areas, Exhibitions, Language Learning Corners, Interaction with Authors, street Plays, Folk Performances etc." reads UGC statement.

Earlier, UGC requested all colleges to make all efforts to celebrate Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav with great vigour and make the event a grand success by volunteering to celebrate with teachers, students and staff with maximum participation. 

UGC also told the institutes to ensure wide media coverage, and appoint a nodal officer for coordinating the event at their respective institutes.

"The HEIs/INIs/Colleges are further requested to disseminate information about their programmes widely so that people across the country feel connected on this important day. It is also requested to submit the details of programmes orgnaised in your respective institutioin on University Activity Monitoring Portal (UAMP) (https://uamp.ugc.ac.in), positively next day after the celebration on December 11, 2023," added UGC.
