The official notification stated that "a total of 87,309 unique candidates have been registered from the UT of Jammu and Kashmir. This is a phenomenal increase in the number of registered candidates as of the last year. Being sensitive to the needs of candidates and to facilitate the students of Jammu and Kashmir, the NTA is exploring the possibility of creating temporary Centres in Kashmir."
The NTA has rescheduled the cancelled examination and as per the schedule the CUET UG 2023 exam will be conducted from May 26 onwards in Jammu and Kashmir. The testing agency has also sent an email to every candidate on their registered email id, along with the official public notice about rescheduling of the exam.
Along with Jammu and Kashmir, the NTA has also postponed the CUET 2023 Exam in Manipur.  β€œAfter contacting the state (Manipur) administration, it has been advised to keep all examinations in the state of Manipur from 29 May 2023 onwards,” the NTA said in an official notification.
"NTA has carefully reviewed the law-and-order situation in consultation with the state administration and contacted these candidates by telephone for asking their preferred city for the said examination. Some candidates who were not in Manipur or wanted to take the examination in another State/City are being allocated to other cities i.e., Delhi, Guwahati, etc. The option for a change of centre for candidates from Manipur is still available,” it further added.
