Since students write multiple tests, the above is equivalent to handling 2591014 students on a single day. "This constitutes 44.71% of the total scheduled slots for students registered in pen-and-paper mode. Today's attendance was more than 75%. However, the accurate percentage will be known after we analyze the data," said UGC Chairman.

The first day of CUET-UG 2024 exam was a success across India, with exams conducted for Chemistry, Biology, English, and General Tests, except at 258 centres in Delhi. Nationwide, 2,157 centres facilitated the exams. The number of candidates per subject was:

Biology: 363,067 candidates in 1,368 centres

English: 862,209 candidates in 2,077 centres

General Studies: 721,986 candidates in 1,892 centres

The total number of test-takers amounts to managing 2,591,014 candidates in a single day, representing 44.71% of the total scheduled slots.

"This is a landmark achievement by NTA in conducting CUET-UG in such large numbers on a single day, and NTA deserves kudos for their meticulous planning and for making sure that the test today went off well at such a large scale in pen and paper mode," said M Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman UGC.

Due to logistical issues, the exams scheduled in Delhi on May 15 have been postponed to May 29. Fresh admit cards will be issued. "The accurate attendance percentage, currently over 75%, will be confirmed after data analysis," said UGC Chairman.

CUET (UG) โ€“ 2024 offers 63 test papers, with durations of 45 minutes, except for subjects like Chemistry and Mathematics, which are 60 minutes. The exams are administered in four shifts: 10 am to 11 am, 12.15 pm to 1 pm, 3 pm to 3.45 pm, and 5 pm to 6 pm.

CUET Exams from May 15-18 will be in pen-and-paper mode, covering various subjects. Despite the postponement in Delhi, exams will proceed as scheduled elsewhere, including in Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida, and internationally.

The NTA confirmed that admit cards were released on May 13, advising candidates to download them after May 14 evening.
