On the eve of Women’s Day, along with DU, its 5 women's colleges also signed MoUs with the Rekhi Foundation. The colleges are Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Gargi College, Indraprastha Women's College, Miranda House and Daulat Ram College.
Delhi University (DU) students will now learn the science of happiness. For this, an MoU was signed between the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness and the University of Delhi and its five colleges.
Under this, the “Rekhi Center of Excellence for the Science of Happiness” will be established at DU and these colleges in collaboration with Rekhi Foundation for Happiness.
DU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yogesh Singh said that happiness is most important in life. Understanding the idea and need for the Science of Happiness, DU has decided to include the course on the Science of Happiness in the curriculum of the programs running in its departments/colleges.
On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that it will be started from the next academic session. Rekhi Foundation will develop and share the curriculum of happiness with DU. This will be for purposes of a guideline and DU can modify the same to suit its curriculum and credit structure. Once the curriculum is finalised, DU will notify the same and its colleges may make necessary arrangements for offering the course(s) of Science of Happiness. DU will adapt the Science of Happiness course for their students as credited elective subjects and gradually develop them to lead to major/minor.
These colleges signed MoU for happiness
On Thursday, along with DU, its 5 women's colleges also signed MoUs with the Rekhi Foundation. Lady Shri Ram College for Women was represented by its Principal Professor Suman Sharma. Gargi College was represented by its Principal Professor Sangeeta Bhatia and Indraprastha Women's College was represented by its Principal Professor Poonam Kumariya. Miranda House was represented by its Principal Professor Bijayalakshmi Nanda and Daulat Ram College was represented by its Principal Professor Savita Roy. Along with all this, the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness was represented by Dr. Satinder Singh Rekhi.
