In line with G 20 initiatives of India, an Indian team delegation led by Chandra Srivari, the Secretary, DST, Govt of India met EU delegation.

DST India tweeted, "Indian delegation led by @IndiaDST Secy Dr @srivaric & including Secy @moesgoi met EU delegation led by Ms Cristina Russo, Director for Global & Intl. Relations on Research & Innovation at European Commission on sidelines of #G20 #RIIG Summit & Research Ministers Meeting. @g20org"

"They discussed about the India-EU S&T Cooperation activities like the India-EU Horizon program, Champions program & other innovation challenges of Mission Innovation & ways of boosting them & building on them," reads another tweet by DST India.

Dr Akhilesh Gupta, Secretary, Science n Eng. Research Board (SERB) (Addl charge), Sr. Adviser, DST. MSc (Phy), LU, PhD (Atmos. Sci), IIT Delhi, tweeted, "Delighted to be part of Indian delegation of #G20 #RIIG Summit & Research Ministers meeting in Mumbai today chaired by Ho'nble @DrJitendraSingh @IndiaDST @serbonline feel honoured to have been given responsibility to organise all 5 RIIG meetings. Thanks to all who contributed."

Dr. Jitendra Singh urges the G20 countries to "rise above differences"

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today urged the G-20 countries to “rise above differences” to address the challenges confronting the world and act as G-20 member responsive for global well-being in the spirit of one family.

In his welcome remarks at G-20 Research Ministers Meeting in Mumbai, Dr Jitendra Singh said, India recognizes the significance of international collaboration and knowledge sharing in addressing the complex challenges of our times. He called upon to leverage the collective wisdom, expertise, and resources to foster a culture of innovation, promote sustainable development, and ensure a prosperous future for all. The Minister urged the G20 nations to move ahead with profound agenda to excel an inclusive, equitable and sustainable growth.

Referring to the fact that a number of Member States are represented at highest level in their national science hierarchy, Dr Jitendra Singh said, this group has the potential to address major global challenges, as we did recently while combating the Covid pandemic. He emphasized that during India’s G20 Presidency, we stand committed to advancing global research and innovation for a better tomorrow.
