Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrabhai Patel and Vice-President of India attended the 72nd Convocation of Gujarat University today.

The Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel termed the Amrit Mohotsav as a unique opportunity to mark the entry into the amrit period of the country and 75 years of the establishment of Gujarat University, and wished bright future and high career to more than 51,000 youth who obtained degrees in various courses. He referred to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus on 'Youth Power' in the 4 Pillars for Building a Developed India and appealed to the North students to contribute to building a 'Developed India' with the values of nation first.
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar addressed the Convocation and said, “When I entered this premises I had the good fortune to inaugurate a research centre. A centre named after two outstanding sons of the Bharat Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Sri APJ Abdul Kalam. Atal Kalam Research Centre, it is need of the hour it is very timely. congratulations to Dr Neerja and the entire team. This research centre will be nerve Centre, epicentre of the change that we have to face. Disruptive Technologies you all have heard of, artificial intelligence, internet of things, machine learning and 6G is around the corner. We have Quantum computing mission in India, only a few countries have it. We have a green hydrogen mission. It is the time for you to engage in research, avail yourself of the opportunities,” he said.
“When I do the work as the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, your future is in front of me. I do not want the temple of democracy to be tarnished in such a way that you people feel that what will people do here now? Creating ruckus, sloganeering, showing posters, not sitting on seats, not contributing. That's why you don't choose anyone? If there is any most effective group in the society, then boys and girls are yours. If you are the charioteer of governance and democracy, then the speed at which this country is moving will not be arithmetic but geometric,” he added.
