JNU UG Admission 2024

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has started the admission process for the undergraduate programme, certificate of proficiency (COP) and diploma of proficiency (DOP) programmes for the academic session 2024-25. Interested students can apply online from the official website. The JNU UG admission 2024 is ongoing till August 12, 2024 (up to 11:50 PM). Students can visit the official website jnuee.jnu.ac.in to fill JNU application form 2024. Students have to login using their NTA CUET application number and date of birth as their user ID and password to register online for the course. 

Tie-breaking Criteria

In case of a tie in the merit list for UG or COP programmes, students having higher marks in CBT by NTA will be given preference. If a tie still persists, the marks of the 10+2 examination will be considered. 

How to Apply for JNU UG Admission 2024? 

Students have to follow the below steps to fill JNU application form 2024: 

  • Visit the JNU Admission Portal – jnuee.jnu.ac.in.
  • Login and enter using NTA application number and date of birth.
  • Complete the application form by filling in your personal, educational and contact details.
  • Submit the required documents including photo, signature and educational certificates.
  • Make payment of the JNU application fee 2024. 
  • Take a printout of the JNU UG application form 2024 for further needs. 

What After JNU Registration 2024? 

Students who will complete the Jawaharlal Nehru University UG registration 2024 before the deadline will be able to make corrections, if needed, in the application form between August 13 to 14, 2024. The first merit list 2024 on August 21, 2024

Q:   Can I get admission to JNU without CUET?

A:

To get admission at Jawaharlal Nehru University, candidates must visit the official website of the University (jnu.ac.in) or NTA for course-wise admission criteria. JNU admission to most of the UG, PG and Diploma courses are based on candidates' performance in the CUET-UG & CUET-PG scores. For admission to JNU BA (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, BSc.-MSc Integrated programme in Ayurveda Biology and Certificate of Proficiency courses, JNU accepts CUET-UG. For JNU PG courses including MTech, MPH, MA, MSc, MCA and PG Diploma in Big Data, admission is based on CUET-PG scores. For JNU MBA admission 2025, CUET-PG is not valid and is dependent on CAT scores. 

Q:   What is the eligibility for MA at JNU?

A:

Candidates seeking admission to the JNU MA course must have a BCA/Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates who have passed BSc/ BCom/ BA with Mathematics at Class 12 or at Graduation level with a minimum aggregate of 55%. Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, candidates also need to appear for the Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) CUET-PG entrance test.

Q:   What is the minimum marks for JNU admission?

A:

The educational qualification and minimum aggregate requirement varies course-wise. However, the basic eligibility remains the same i.e. Class 12 for UG and graduation for PG courses. Find below JNU eligibility criteria for top courses:

Q:   How many seats are available for BSc at JNU?

A:

The total seat intake for the JNU BSc-MSc course is 20. This is as per the information given in the latest JNU brochure. Moreover, the seat intake for BSc courses offered by NDA is not available. Candidates can visit the NDA official website (nda.nic.in) or get in touch with the admission office for details regarding the same. During counselling, seats are allotted to the students based on performance in CUET and as per seat availability.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for BTech admission at JNU?

A:

For JNU BTech admission, candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ ST candidates). Apart from the minimum eligibility requirement, a valid JEE Main score is also required to be eligible for Jawaharlal Nehru University BTech admission.  Candidates must hold the qualifying exam mark sheet and pass certificate as it is required for verification purposes.
