Lucknow University to Begin 4-Year UG Programmes with Research under NEP

Lucknow University four-year undergraduate programmes with a research degree will be as per the National Education Policy 2020.

Lucknow University (LU) will soon announce the four-year undergraduate course admission process on the official website. Students willing to pursue FYUP from Lucknow University will be able to get the complete admission details shortly. Lucknow University will offer four-year undergraduate courses under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Students who want to get admission in undergraduate programme with a research degree can consider the prospective programme by Lucknow University that will offer research opportunities right after the completion of an undergraduate degree. 

Lucknow University has more than 500 affiliated colleges. Interestingly, LU's four-year undergraduate programme 2024-25 will be the first batch of four-year students who will receive UG honours with a research degree, as reported by The Economic Times. 

Eligibility Criteria for Lucknow University Four Year UG Programme 

Students with a cumulative score of 7.5 or above till the sixth semester will be eligible to pursue a four-year programme with research opportunities. However, students must know that the Lucknow University Four Year UG Programme eligibility criteria is a mandatory requisite for students and no student will be provided relaxation in the admission criteria. 

Additionally, only those LU-affiliated colleges that offer postgraduation (PG) in a respective subject will be granted permission to admit students in their fourth year of UG in the subject. In case a college does not offer a PG programme in a specific subject, then students will be allowed to pursue their fourth year from another affiliated college offering the respective programme. Nonetheless, students will be allowed to pursue their fourth year only in their major subject.
