Mumbai University to File Complaint Against Fake Mark Sheet Offers

Mumbai University fake mark sheet case was highlighted recently when a Pune resident shared a Facebook post of getting the Mumbai University degree at home for INR 10,000 to 12,000.  

Mumbai University Fake Marksheet The Mumbai University (MU) is taking legal action against individuals who are involved in offering fake Mumbai University mark sheets. The issue was highlighted by a Pune resident who saw a Facebook post where he was promised to get a Mumbai University degree within a day in exchange for INR 10,000 to 12,000. 

Pune Resident Confirms From MU

The Pune resident allegedly paid an advance of INR 2,000 to the individual and received a purported BSc Semester VI marksheet on WhatsApp. With doubt in mind about the authenticity of the mark sheet, the Pune resident contacted the Mumbai University officials to check whether or not the degree was valid or not. 

Consequently, the degree turned out to be a fake degree and Mumbai University took this matter seriously and filed a cyber complaint at the nearest police station, as reported by the Indian Express. 

“The purported mark sheet of BSc Semester VI, dated April 6, 2024, according to Mumbai University, is a fake document created using Photoshop or other tools and is signed by the previous director of examination,” the Mumbai University statement said. 

Mumbai University Warns Students to Be Aware

Mumbai University warns students to be aware of these fraudulent activities and how these marksheets could be created using Photoshop, a report by Hindustan Times says. 

“The university alerts students to be mindful of such deceitful schemes. Inauthentic marksheets and degrees are often concocted using software like Photoshop. In this circumstance, the forged marksheet carries the signature of a former examination director, exhibiting its illegitimacy. MU underlines the importance of affirming the genuineness of academic documents and alerts against engaging with illegitimate degree providers,” the MU statement on Wednesday further stated.
