For the candidates who are confused about which path to take after passing class 12, here is some useful information. Shiksha conducted a Youtube poll on the popular career choices after class 12. As many as 800 students participated in the poll.
The most popular course remained BTech and the next preference was MBBS followed by BBA/BCA, BA/BSC, and Bcom. 54% of the participants voted for BTech, 11% for MBBS, 12% for BBA/BCA, 16% for BA/BSC, and 8% for BCom courses. JEE Main and JEE Advanced Exams
JEE Main is conducted for admission to BE/BTech and BArch/BPlan courses at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. JEE Main is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced, which is conducted for admission to IITs.
JEE Main is held twice a year - in January and April for admission to BE/BTech, BArch, and BPlan. The total number of seats available in JEE Main is - 50822, of which 218 are for ST-PWD, 12345 for OBC, and 618 are for OBC-PWD. JEE Mains seats include NITs, IIITs and GFTIs and not IITs. Total seats including JEE Mains and Advanced are 54477. This year, JEE Main 2023 exam date session 2 was April 06, 08, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 15, 2023.
IIT Guwahati will conduct JEE Advanced on June 4, 2023, in computer-based test mode. JEE Advanced will be held in 2 shifts. The paper 1 exam will be held from 9 am to 12 noon. The paper 2 exam will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
NEET Exam
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, Veterinary, and other medical/paramedical courses in India. NEET UG 2023 was held on May 7, 2023. The entrance exam is held in 13 languages including English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Assamese, Gujarati, Marathi, Odia, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi and Telugu.
This year over 20 lakh aspirants have applied for the examination and now they are waiting for National Testing Agency to release the NEET UG answer key and NEET UG result. The total number of seats offered through the NEET exam is 185524 including 1,04,333 MBBS seats, 27,868 BDS seats, 52,720 BAMS, and 603 BVSc & AH seats.
CUET Exam
Central University Entrance Test (CUET) is an all-India level entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency for admission to UG courses offered in all the participating institutions. The exam dates for the third phase are May 29 to June 2. The CUET city intimation slips 2023 for the third phase was released on May 25. The exam is conducted once a year in over 500 cities in India and abroad.
