Punjab Agricultural University Resumes Fashion Design Course

Students who have qualified class 12 in any stream are eligible to take admission in the fashion design course at Punjab Agricultural University. This programme imparts vocational skills in students in accordance with NEP 2020. 

Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has restarted the fashion design course at the university. Students who have passed their intermediate (class 12) from any stream can take admission to this degree course based on board exam results.

The fashion design course will be provided under the Department of Apparel and Textile Science from the new academic session. 

PAU Fashion Design Course Eligibility Criteria

Students who complete a fashion design course from Punjab Agricultural University will be able to get into the field of design, production supervisors, fashion forecasters, supply chain managers, merchandising and more. 

“Fashion Designing is a creative field where fabric and style merge to create classic apparel, upholsteries and accessories. This is a promising field which imparts vocational skills in students in line with the National Education Policy 2020,” said Dr Kiran Bains, Dean, of the College of Community Science, PAU.

As per the professor and head of the department, Harminder Kaur Saini,  the department will focus on the personal and professional growth of the students along with offering them a congenial atmosphere. 

The department houses state-of-the-art laboratories and is credited by a team of qualified faculty, providing a congenial atmosphere both for personal and professional growth, as reported by Indian Express. 

"In the past many students of fashion designing were placed in several industries like textile, knitwear and appearance in and around Ludhiana, Saini further added.
