Sri Sri University (SSU) has announced that it is going to launch courses in contemplative and behavioural Science from the coming academic year that is set to begin from August.
Sri Sri University (SSU) has announced that it is going to launch courses in contemplative and behavioural Science from the coming academic year that is set to begin from August.
While talking about the courses, Rajita Kulkarni, President, Sri Sri University and World Forum of Ethics in Business, said, “this is for the first time in the World that a department of contemplative and behavioural sciences has been introduced. The course will include all tenets of psychology from both the western and eastern point of view including contemplation, which is the heritage of our Indian tradition.”
The varsity is offering short term online courses for professionals to help them make best use of the lockdown period, she said.
Online classes for students were also conducted and the curriculum was finished on time. The final year exam was conducted and the evaluation was done online successfully, Kulkarni said.
While commenting on the shift from physical classes to online, she said, “ The pandemic situation has taught us that a lot can be done online and with the use of technology. Online education has become an important trend and its going to stay in the time to come. However, it is important to build in-person teaching and learning.”
SSU was established in 2009 and is situated in Bhubaneshwar. The University has seven departments: Agriculture, Architecture, Management Studies, Health and Wellness, Arts, Communication and Indic Studies, Science and Contemplative and Behavioural Sciences. Sri Sri University offers several PG, UG, Diploma, Integrated and Certificate courses.
