TIFR GS 2024 held on December 10, 2023 in online mode.

TIFR GS 2024 has been successfully concluded today, December 10, 2023. This exam was conducted in online mode across 57 cities in India. The exam was held in two shifts, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The questions were objective in nature and the language of the exam was English.  Read below the in depth analysis of distribution of topics, number of good attempts, difficulty levels, and expected cutoff.

According to the students who appeared in the exam, it can be considered as Moderate to Easy. Some of questions were repeated from previous year or other exams like GATE and JEST.There were majority of questions from subjects like Quantum, Optics, Electrodynamics, Electronics, and Mechanics etc.

The questions were easy in nature hence TIFR GS 2024 cutoff can be increased in comparison to previous year. This year it can be in the range between 65 to 85 marks

TIFR GS 2024 Exam Analysis

The questions from some subjects i.e Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology exam were found to be Moderate by some of the candidates who have appeared in the examination, while many found it Moderate to Difficult. So it can be concluded that the majority of the candidates found the TIFR exams level as Moderate to Easy 

Direct concept-based questions were asked less and students needed to think more critically to answer the questions. The question paper was designed in a certain way to check the analytical and practical approach that the students had in their UG and PG degree.

According to the students, the maximum number of questions that were asked in the examination was of master's or post-graduate level. It is to be noted that TIFR GS number of good attempts vary from subject to subject as there are many subjects but above 35 per cent is considered a good attempt if there is accuracy of more than 70 per cent. The questions which were asked in TIFR 2024 examination from topics like  Algebra, Topology, Geometry and elimentary functions in Mathematics course.

 TIFR GS 2024 Expected Cut off

Since the TIFR GS exam was conducted in online mode, there is no hard copy for the students to evaluate their performance through the answer key. Applicants should note that since total marks allotted to the exam is 300. Hence the TIFR GS expected cut off 2024 will be decided on the basis of that. 

The authorities will declare results in around 45 days. The result will comprise the name and roll number of candidates who qualify the written exam for interview. The final list will be prepared on the basis of both written and interview on the TIFR official website

Only those candidates who will qualify the exam will be eligible to receive the monthly scholarship as well as annual contingency grant. TIFR GS is an exam which is conducted across India in various cities for admission in PhD, Integrated MSc-PhD as well as MSc degree in certain subjects.
