After February 8, 2024, no claim pertaining to the period up to December 2023 will be entertained by the UGC.
University Grants Commission (UGC) has released a public notice regarding Arrears of Post-Doctoral/Doctoral fellowships.
"Stakeholders (HEI's and Fellows) are requested to claim their pending dues i.e., pre-revised/revised fellowship/house rent allowance/contingency admissible up to December 2023, by February 8, 2024, on Scholarship Fellowship Management Portal (SFMP)."
After February 8, 2024, no claim pertaining to the period up to December 2023 will be entertained by the UGC. The Commission had been implementing various scholarship/fellowship schemes in offline mode till June 30, 2016.
"HEI's are requested to send Utilization Certificate/Statement of Expenditure and dues, if any, for the period pertaining up to June 30, 2016, by January 31, 2024," said the Commission.
UGC releases list of defaulting universities who have not appointed Ombudsperson
The Universities were requested to appoint Ombudsperson(s) within 30 days of the notification of the Regulations vide letter dated April 12, 2023. This was followed with several reminders.
ln the previous communication dated December 5, 2023, the universities were again requested to appoint Ombudsperson(s) and implement other provisions of UGC Regulations by December 31, 2023. It was also mentioned that the list of universities not complying with these requirements would be published on the UGC website. Hence, now UGC has released the list on its official website.
Those universities who have appointed or appoint Ombudsperson(s) subsequently may communicate the complete details of the Ombudspersons to the following emails:
- For Central University: mssarma.usc@nic.in
- For State University smitabidani.us.c@nic.in
- For Deemed to be University: ijlg4!14.qgg@iqi4
- For Private University: shakeel.ugc(r,nic.in
“Universities who have already appointed Ombudsperson(s) but find their name in the list may also write to the above emails. The Universities and their affiliated Colleges are requested to display the particulars and contact details of the Ombudsperson(s) and Students Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) on their websites and at prominent places on their campuses,” stated UGC.
