University of East Anglia has announced the new and improved MSc in Business Analytics and Management. The new course combines four options in semester three, so that students can now choose to prepare a business plan, write a dissertation, undertake a work placement or get involved in a work-based project, sponsored by a UK business.
As per a statement issued by UEA, with a strong emphasis on practical or academic application, this programme now ensures students feel better prepared for their next job role or for further academic study, such as a PhD.
When students choose the business plan module in semester three, they will hone their skills in order to develop a sustainable business plan for their start-up idea, as well as having an opportunity to pitch to a board of investors; similar to real life for start-up funding. Pulling together the subject specific skills and learning from the other modules covering marketing, planning, budgeting, finance and legal aspects, students will now focus on the opportunity their business offers to its target audience, be it an investor, a partner or new staff.
The MSc Business Analytics and Management focuses on experiential learning, providing students with invaluable practical opportunities. Through collaborative projects or extended research students can apply their knowledge and skills to real-world business scenarios, gaining hands-on experience in utilising data for strategic decision-making. This emphasis on practical application coupled with a cutting-edge curriculum blending theory and practicality, equips students with the skills and insights needed to excel in the data-driven world of business analytics and management.
Upon completion of the MSc in Business Analytics and Management, graduates will unlock a world of career opportunities across various business sectors, spanning public and private, sectors, in areas such as corporate data management, consultancy, entrepreneurial ventures, digital marketing and information/data management roles.
