Soon, autonomous status for AKTU’s college of architecture

Newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Pradeep Kumar Mishra announced this during a meeting with all deans and co-deans of the university. 

As per a report published in Hindustan Times, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Vice-Chancellor Pradeep Kumar Mishra said the faculty of architecture and planning of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Lucknow, which is popularly known as college of architecture, will soon get autonomous status and renamed as School of Architecture and Planning. Besides, the International School of Pharmacy will be established by the university. 

Mishra announced this during a meeting with all deans and co-deans of the university. A dean (affiliation and enrolment) will be posted in the university so that the affiliation-related matters can be completed within a stipulated time period with complete transparency,” he said. 

The issue of pending promotion of teachers under Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) would be resolved at the earliest and the number of lectures being broadcast on Swayamprabha channel would also be increased. 

The decision regarding starting of a scholarship scheme for MTech and doctoral students of government and private colleges affiliated to the university was taken during the meeting.  

Scholarships will provide both financial and research support to around 2,000 students studying in the government and private colleges affiliated to the university. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the issues hindering the progress of these colleges. 

He said a common online platform would soon be developed by the university for state and constituent institutions. “Emphasis will be laid on entrepreneurship development. Work will be done in all institutions in a planned manner to develop an ecosystem for entrepreneurship development,” Mishra said. He said initiatives would be taken for agro-incubation to promote rural and agricultural entrepreneurship.
