With Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) starting offline classes, the University administration has once again started free bus service on its campus. The free bus service is provided by the university to avoid inconvenience to the students.
As per the committee that has been appointed under the chairmanship of Rajesh Pandey, a member of the management council, for the introduction of the compressed natural gas (CNG) bus service in the varsity, this bus service was started in 2019. For this, Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) has given two of its buses to the varsity under the Corporate Social Responsibility. Initially, the varsity had planned to charge three months fee and thereafter a nominal fee. However, soon after the bus service was started, it had to be stopped due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and the closure of the institution.
This bus serves from the main gate of the university to all the main places in the university. “We have started this bus service to reduce the pollution in the university and to reduce the unnecessary traffic. All students should take maximum advantage of this bus service. More buses will be introduced to the university if required,” said Pandey.
Meanwhile, SPPU conducted the online entrance examination for SPPU Admissions 2022 for various graduate, post-graduate and other courses. SPPU Entrance Exam 2022 were conducted from July 21 to July 24 at 22 centres across the country. All those students who are interested to take admission into SPPU and its affiliated colleges appeared for the same. The University has received a total of 21,670 applications for admissions to various courses offered by the varsity and its affiliated colleges.
