Savitribai Phule Pune University is mulling to conduct the semester-end examination in offline mode from the second week of January 2022. As per the reports, the final decision regarding the same will be taken during a meeting of the Board of Examination scheduled to be held on December 15. Pune University is considering conducting the offline exams because the college has recently started offline classes.
A senior University official told TOI that, “We need to keep the prestige and quality of the university intact. Now that colleges have already reopened and are holding in-person classes, we can also have examinations offline." Earlier, the students' had argued that since classes are held online, exams should also be conducted in the online form. However, this is not correct, the official added.
“Examinations are important and we need a fair and transparent method for all students. Keeping all this in mind, offline examinations will be good. But then, it is again up to the BOE and the university officials to make the final decision,” said the senior official.
